All residents have a private, single occupancy bedroom. We encourage our residents to integrate their personal belongings to make their environment as comfortable and home-like as possible. Social interaction and communication among residents and staff are a priority. Each person is assisted in achieving their personal goals by providing individualized training to acquire, maintain or improve skills related to activities of daily living.
A daily routine is established for each resident that provides for consistency and new experiences. Each resident has a plan outlining their support needs. This plan outlines specific outcomes either expressed by the resident or evaluated as an area of support needed for the individual. The plan is used to help each resident progressively strengthen his/her own individual knowledge, skills and independence. Plans may include goals related to personal care, general housekeeping, living skills, social skills, or community integration. The resident is involved in reviewing the goals and objectives at least quarterly.
Residents attend churches within their communities, are encouraged to work where appropriate, and volunteer to help others. In the event that these daily activities are not available or workable for a resident, other daily activities will be developed. Our staff will coordinate and schedule medical / dental appointments. Transportation is provided or arranged by our staff for appointments and group outings.
